YES Background - 22 Years

YES was established in 1986 by its founder, Patrick Young. Young has a breadth of experience in the data and telecom industry and has worked for many large organizations such as Ungermann-Bass, a major LAN vendor and has had many prestigious clients including Federated Department Stores, Biosphere II, General Motors and General Electric. Young's claim to fame was his design of the first Ethernet card for IBM's PC and featured on the front cover of PC Week Magazine.

In 1993 YES Telecom developed its flagship product - The Identifier - a multi-line caller ID device. The Identifier is an innovative yet simple to use device that monitors telephone lines and reports all phone line activity to a computer via a serial port connection. The Identifier is unique because its includes programmable functionality, timing parameters, watchdog function, unlimited daisy chaining, incoming and outgoing call identification and sophisticated circuit design. The Identifier received Computer Telephony Magazine's Editors' Choice Award.

Young's experience will caller id dates back to 1979 when he designed a caller id terminal for hotel room service. It was more than 10 years later that caller id service became available from the Bell Telephone Companies.
